Halloween Aquarium by InkTheEchidna Halloween Aquarium by InkTheEchidna
My Halloween-themed aquarium, vigilantly guarded by Little Red the betta. They're not shown in this picture, but he also watches over Pepper, a corydoras catfish, and a ghost shrimp that has somehow outlived seven others.

The amazing smooth glass stones were found at Michael's craft store ($6 a pound, so a little pricey, but so worth it!). The orange bristle plants are from Petco, the (glow-in-the-dark) skull cave is from (I think) Wal-Mart, and the other skull was found at a local pet shop.

Now although Halloween's over, this pic is still eye-catching to me as it contains the some of the elements you find in Halloween. The skulls look excellent, as well as the stones being a contrasting color with each other with specks of orange, black and silver.

As for the plants, though they slightly differentiate in terms of the orange, they make up for this slight flaw by appearing soft, as they lay near the side if each skull.

For the lighting, it vividly illuminates this entire aquarium, giving it a bold white, with your betta swimming elegantly throughout the light. Extravagant effect you have here my friend.

Lastly, as to wrap this critique up, this aquarium may have a slight flaw involving the plants contrasting the substrate, overall, I give this pic a 4.8 out of 5.

No offense, but that was/is extremely overstocked.  5 gallons is really the minimum for one fish, any more you need 10+ gallons.  The decorations are cool though, kind of unusual.

Pretty sure I didn't ask for opinions on stocking tanks. Personally, I found a bigger issue was that the corycats couldn't get their food because it was falling through the larger stones; they are much happier with traditional gravel. Thanks about the decor, though.

Those stones really are cool. Now I'm almost inspired to redecorate my sister's turtle tank. But I don't want to hear her bitch.
